Straight Rye whiskey aged twice in oak barrels

Double Oak Bourbon is built around a single guiding principle: every component touches new oak—by design.
Each batch begins with a blend of bourbon distilled at MGP and select Kentucky distilleries, chosen for balance, structure, and the ability to withstand additional oak exposure without becoming overworked. Ages and proofs vary by batch, allowing blending decisions to prioritize structure and integration over uniformity.
From there, the whiskey undergoes a second maturation entirely in new oak barrels from Kelvin Cooperage, built to our specifications. These barrels span multiple toast and char levels, each selected to contribute a specific layer—caramelization, spice, tannin, or sweetness—rather than a single dominant note.
Finishing time is seasonally driven. Barrels are evaluated and moved based on temperature shifts and extraction rate, allowing warmer months to drive deeper wood interaction while cooler periods slow the process and preserve balance. No two batches are finished on the same timeline, and none are rushed to hit a fixed endpoint.
The result is a Double Oak bourbon defined not by intensity alone, but by controlled layering—oak as structure, not excess.
Deep and expressive. Toasted oak, caramelized sugar, and vanilla bean lead, followed by baking spice, cocoa powder, and hints of charred wood.
Full-bodied and structured. Layers of toasted oak, brown sugar, and vanilla unfold alongside baking spice, dark caramel, and subtle dry tannin. Oak presence is assertive but measured, supporting the bourbon’s core rather than overwhelming it.
Long and warming. Charred oak and baking spice linger with notes of toffee, vanilla, and dry cocoa. The finish remains balanced, with structure carrying through to a clean close.
